Leadership Navigation

A leader has to be aware of his drive for leading. By knowing about the drive he know the directions and the options of wheel.
The range of a leader highly depends on the drive's intensity. The stronger the drive the more readiness for risk taking. People with an overdrive put their neck on the line, in one or the other way.
Many people have drives in different directions. Their life full of conflicts. On the other hand we have different desires and need drives in different directions. So the only option to overcome this dilemma is setting priorities and include the aspect of time.

    Qi Gong
Improve the little and the large Qi cycle. Start with the smaller one. Work on the wind and the fire cycle. The fire cycle provides much more Qi, but cannot be practice when having inner bleeding.

Taiji is not about being relaxed and moving waving with the arms powerlessly while moving the body up and down like a Camel on sand dunes.
Regretfully many Europeans and North Americans think that and practice that way.

How got can my Taiji become?
A question many people like to ask is, how good can my Taiji become?
It mainly depends on dedication and character.
The more someone wants to improve the more important character becomes.

Taiji has a lot to do with the 36 strategies in the book "The arts of war". "The arts of war" is not only containing war stratagems but also unveils tactics applied by business leaders. These stratagems can be applied in a overall strategy...

Taiji is a very time spending activity. The more somebody gets into it the more time it consumes. Taiji has nothing to do with the "getting fit fast and easy" idea. Taji requires dedication.
Taiji is a way of life.

    Taiji, the philosophy of leaders
Taji improves leadership skills. Taiji contains a philosophy to lead with minimal interference. Being ahead of the news works without oppressing people or commit injustice. Freedom and truthful actions have the highest speed. They are beyond time.

Tarek Sharaf • If you don't have a plan you can't miss anything.
Imagine you are at the train station. Very 10 minutes there is a train to another destination. If you take the first one you will "miss" all other trains. Like that life should be defined as a waste of opportunities. Jumping on any train actually means to fail in general. Success has to have a definition that is stipulated by the person that is planning or about to achieve it. Missing the goal is just failing in particular. When I know my destination or at least the direction I can get on the train.

Tarek Sharaf • Luthy, you can't be brave when you don't think about tomorrow. I said doing it with awareness is the crucial point. So braveness is ignoring the consequences. Acrobatic endeavor is not denying concerns.

Tarek Sharaf • Luthy, maybe we talk about the same in different ways. I'm a political analyst. Therefore my approach might be from a different ankle.
We live in a world dominated my the existence of national states. Traditionally being brave refers to the obedience of a leader's command. For example "Do what has to be done regardless of the consequences to whom soever". At the end they are even called heroes. Just quieting your job means just quieting your job. The subjects gets more interesting when we know more about the motivation and the risk somebody is ready to take to change something. The word brave has to many implications that are not manageable. So i don't like to juggle with it.

    Hi Mike,
I actually do not like to follow, but some guidance is not bad. Leaders who strongly show up as such are weak and trying to hide their weakness behind a strong approach. To me the word care is to vague to operate with. In really we find many leaders who show that they care but when you go deeper it is not clear about what they care. That is daily business in politics.

Mike, congratulation you are leading the discussion by example. You already surpassed most leaders. Many leaders are use to the "PP", power and punishment method. I would really like to live in a non authoritarian world. But can you always rely on people's judgement and choice? At the end the question comes down to a liberal or authoritarian leadership style. In hard times people like authoritarian leaders. They like to check out and getting told what to do. To avert such situations minds have to people cultivated. So the system works by abandoning the necessary to lead. Perfection of leading is leading by non interference.

Nobody today is starting from zero. So everybody can refer to a teacher, books or a method he started with. During the time I become a bit different from my teachers. My method is train people mentally, physically and socially. I sharpen their mind for space an time. Some of my masters are Taiji, Qi Gong and martial arts cracks. Others are scholars or wise people. They don't speak a common language. Some of them are people from the past. My job was to arrange a meet between them through myself. I'm hosting and creating a new realty beyond time and space. Overcoming the conventional ideas is key.

There are different kind of dreams. Some have achieved in secret others others not. Many people use others to achieve there goals. About the ethical values it is hard to talk. some dreams rely on greediness for wealth and power. The number is not little. Reasoning is often invented as a pretext to keep the actions morally clean. I doubt that there is a substantial number of companies in a capitalistic systems with very high moral values. When we bring it to the basics it's nearly all about profit.

Leading is about having confidence and spreading this feeling further to the people it should reach. But a leader is involved in very different situations and it is not only about being confident . For a leader there are in general 2 options One is leading according to how the people are. It means leading in accordance with their culture and mindset. The second option is engineering people's mindset, which is the much more difficult part. The second case is really about leading. A tools to change people's mind is telling a story. But a leader should not become a demagogue by just inventing fairy tails. A leader has to be trustworthy. This is more important than a short term success.

    Tarek Sharaf (Friday, 06 July 2012 13:53)

The mindset has to be checked and balanced. The mind is just a tool following rules. The self has to gain control of this process which needs training. If we are just ruled by our mindset we become Bio-machines.

There are different ways to lead. Depending on the inner philosophy people are driven by different thoughts, ideas, emotions as well as experience they made. The leadership style heavily depends on on social aspects like culture and values. A leader's definition of success is an highly ethical question. Most "leaders" are not really aware what they are driven by. At the end a true leader is the one who is aware of the main drives otherwise he is not turning the wheel by himself.

Capitalism is not challenged. The system that relies on competition has non. No correction and no challenge to improve. The failures ion the banking sector are too numerous to call it a mistake of some decision makers. The system functions of the system are deteriorating.
Shall we wait to the system complete collapses or is it time to come up with alternative ideas? Coming up with new idea will be regarded as a threat by people and states who still benefit from the system. The system supports the current international hierarchy. The big question is where to start when introduce new ideas?

Leaders need a philosophy. Otherwise how can they set the route for their journey. Depending on the philosophy outcome is different. Leaders are not necessary good are bad people. They are just more conscious than the average about what they are doing and what is going on. Saints are the classical leaders. Dictators are less sophisticated amateurs in leading. They are actually not leading, they drag people.

Online leadership style is introduced in sequences. But a leader not an imposture of this and then of that. He should lead by by his being and not through his becoming...otherwise he is the one who is being guided.

A leader has to be able to navigate. The instruments are body, mind, society, location and time. Body is vulnerable. Mind is easily diluted. Society is brainless. Location means being exposed. And time is the physical limit. A leader is permanently challenged by these dimensions.

Good decisions on the all over conditions. Being skillful and well training in a subject is just enough for average performance and it won't exceed this level. In this case the decision maker is acting in the category of an employee. The decision maker is supposed to be a leader. Being skillful is not the prime qualification of a leader.

Da Yan Qi Gong (Wold Goose Qi Gong)
For people who need to improve their e gener
al health condition I recommend Da Yan Qi Gong. Da Yan Qi Gong in English is Wild Goose Qi Gong.
It is very suitable morning exercise because it doesn't take up a lot of time for warm up and it refreshes as well as relaxes very well. So after practicing you won't feel tiered. It's also good just to practice when you take a brake and want to recharge your batteries.

Taiji should not be taught too soft. Practicing Taiji is needs dedication and a lot of mental and physical training. Of course there are harder and softer styles. Everybody should trey to pic a style that fits him or her.
The softest is Sun. The hardest is Chen. Wu, Yang and Wu I wouldn't call really soft. Well performed they are really demanding. They look softer than they are.

Taiji is not well known in many western countries. There are many people who practice but do not understand the concept. I just followed some Taiji competitions. There is a lot of work to do. Taji has to be studied well. It takes years and daily training. Taji isn't easy at all. How well and deep somebody can become in Taji highly depends on his or her character as well the mind set.

Good leadership training should be about training the engine. It is less about certain skills. The leader is not an ordinary employee who is hired for his skillful. A leader must be exceptional. He is the decision maker. So his engine needs tuning.
